Congrats to Olympian SIMONE BILES. The gymnastics champ was on Twitter yesterday and said she "woke up a fianceé," and posted pictures from her engagement to Houston Texans football star JONATHAN OWENS. Turns out they have been dating since 2020 and celebrated their first anniversary while Simone was competing at the Olympics in Tokyo.
Another day, another guy trying to sell you shares of his company that will use your money to buy the rights to movies so he can sell 'em to streaming platforms like as Netflix and HBO. It worked for a while --ZACHARY HOROWITZ raised at least $650 million bucks from various people-- which he then reportedly used to repay earlier investors after he used THEIR money to buy a $6 million home and other goodies. It's called a "Ponzi scheme" and he was caught by the feds and could now face up to 20 years in prison --plus he's supposed to pay back the money he bilked from investors.
The families of children who were killed back in 2012 at Sandy Hook school in Connecticut reached a $73 million dollar settlement with Remington Arms on Tuesday. The nine families had a class-action lawsuit against Remington Arms, which made the AR-15 semi-automatic rifle which was used to kill the 20 first graders and six staff members at the school. They claimed the gun-maker irresponsibly marketed the weapon to at-risk young men such as the Sandy Hook shooter through product placement in violent video games.
How'd you like to be aboard an airliner in mid-flight when somebody discovered a snake on the plane? Sounds like a movie, right? Happened over the weekend on a domestic AirAsia flight from Kuala Lumpur to Tawau, Malaysia. When the plane's captain was notified, he made an emergency landing at a nearby airport, after which the plane was "disinfected."
Up in New York City's borough of Da Bronx, an unfortunate occurrence --a 53-year-old woman was dumped at the Jacobi Medical Center around midnight --naked from the waist down. The two women who dropped her off said they found her in distress and then they just walked away. When doctors examined her they found needle marks on her body and a foreign substance had been injected into her buttocks. Unfortunately, she died later that night and the doctors believe was the victim of a botched butt lift injection.
Several sources say a Brazilian Butt Lift --often called a "BBL"-- is the fastest growing cosmetic surgery in the world. The medical procedure takes fat from various parts of the patient's body and then injected back into the buttocks. Women want to look like KIM KARDASHIAN. Since 2015, the number of butt lifts performed globally has grown by 77.6 percent, according to a recent survey by the International Society of Aesthetic Plastic Surgery. But it was also found that one in 3,000 BBLs resulted in death, making it the world's most dangerous cosmetic procedure.
