It's coming next week: another "South Park" movie. This one's Part II of the "Post COVID" film which dropped on Thanksgiving and gave fans got a look at South Park 40 years into the future. And yes, the pandemic is still going on 40 years later and the boys are attempting to solve it.
Tube talk: Congrats to MAYIM BIALIK and KEN JENNINGS, who'll be sharing the hosting duties for "Jeopardy" for the remainder of the season, which ends July 29. No word yet on any possibilities for a new host (or hosts) for the next season at this point (probably depends on ratings for Ken and Mayim).
We told you yesterday about VISHAL GARG, the CEO of mortgage company Better.com, who fired 900 members of his staff on a Zoom meeting. "If you're on this call you're part of the unlucky group being laid off," he said. "Your employment here is terminated. Effective immediately." Now, after the news of his firings hit the internet, he's "deeply sorry" about the way he handled the task. Two words: Too Late.
Weird story from the NY Post, which reports breeders at a Saudi Arabian beauty pageant --for camels-- had their camels booted from the pageant after doctors reported they'd been given Botox, hormones and other stuff to make them look better. Why do that to a camel? because of the prize money at the annual Abdulaziz Camel Festival --nearly $66 million in prize money. The camels are reportedly judged on the shape of their heads, necks, humps, dress and postures --and the breeders used the various drugs to fill out their lips and noses and make their heads bigger, among other things. Ahem, no word about anything being done to their... humps.
And you gotta love MERYL STREEP, who reportedly had to be told what G.O.A.T. meant when some of her younger co-stars called her that on her "Don't Look Up" movie set. Meryl, who's 72-years-old, was taken aside by her younger co-stars, JENNIFER LAWRENCE and JONAH HILL, who explained that the initials stood for "Greatest Of All Time." Jennifer told STEPHEN COLBERT during an interview that Meryl had apparently believed her co-stars were regularly calling her a barn animal.
