Movie news: Variety reports LEO DiCAPRIO is in final talks to star in and produce MGM’s upcoming movie about JIM JONES. He was the religious cult leader in Jonestown, Guyana, who got more than 900 members of his commune to commit mass suicide in November 1978 at his Jonestown settlement that took more than 900 lives.
Tube talk: ABC is reportedly working on a new sitcom inspired by the life of singer ALANIS MORISSETTE. The show will tentatively be called “Relatable,” and Alanis will reportedly be writing original music for it, along with being the executive producer.
Yesterday we mentioned that one of AMY WINEHOUSE's dresses was sold at auction for $243,200. Today, news that the elf costume that WILL FERRELL wore in the movie of the same name went for nearly $300-thousand dollars at an auction of stuff from The Prop Store. Among the other memorabilia which was sold was that Wilson volleyball which was used in the TOM HANKS movie, "Castaway." It went for an amazing $388,750.
Rock and roll: DIANA ROSS has signed up to play the Glastonbury Festival in England next year. She was originally scheduled to make her debut at the festival back in 2020, but the massive concert was cancelled because of the pandemic. So far, the only other performer who's been confirmed for the sold-out festival is pop star BILLIE EILISH.
You don't wanna tick this woman off. A female soldier in the Montana Army National Guard has become the first woman to ever finish the Army's seven-week Sniper Course last week. In the military, they call snipers masters of “one shot, one kill,” and the course also teaches candidates everything from detecting and stalking a target to effective concealment and camouflage. Capt. JOSHUA O’NEILL, her company commander, said “She epitomizes what it means to be an infantry soldier and there wasn’t a doubt in our minds that she would succeed in the U.S. Army sniper course. We’re all extremely proud of her.”
Supermodel EMILY RATAJKOWSKI has a new book out, called "My Body," and in it, says she was told to "get ugly" if she wanted to make it as an actress in Hollywood.

Passing: Actor DEAN STOCKWELL, who played Al in the sci-fi series "Quantum Leap," passed away Sunday aged 85. Beginning in show biz when he was just 15, he had a 70-year career, winning a Golden Globe for "Quantum Leap," and was also nominated for an Oscar as Mafia boss Tony "the Tiger" Russo in the comedy "Married to the Mob."
