Space: Turns out JEFF BEZOS also asked TOM HANKS if he wanted to ride one of Bezos' space ships like WILLIAM SHATNER but Tom turned him down, cold. Tom told JIMMY KIMMEL he turned the space flight down because he'd have to pay for it: “You know, it cost 28 million bucks or something like that,” he said. “And I’m doing good, Jimmy, I’m doing good. But I ain’t paying 28 [million] bucks.”
Music news: Billboard magazine reports BRUCE SPRINGSTEEN considering selling his recorded music catalog to Sony Music. Turns out Bruce has gotten the rights to his music back thru a series of negotiations thru the years. And folks are speculating that selling the catalog for big bucks could very well be part of Springsteen’s estate planning, since he's now 72 years old and the rights to the catalog could be anywhere from $330 million to $415 million.
The NY Post reports Airbnb is offering people a chance to stay at a re-creation of Carrie Bradshaw's “Sex and the City” brownstone apartment --walk-in closet included-- and for just $23 bucks a night. The apartment will be in Manhattan's Chelsea neighborhood instead of the spacious Upper East Side one-bedroom apartment used in the series --and which would cost at least $3,000 a month today. So two lucky people will get in for $23 dollars on November 12th and 13th --and be able to check out the place which is stocked with memorabilia from the series, like an exact replica of Carrie’s bedspread along with similar clothes from her wardrobe in the closet and the beloved Eiffel Tower bag she carried around town on dates with Mr. Big.
Tube talk #1: Netflix has hired SOFIA VERGARA to play the Black Widow in a six-episode limited series. The Black Widow is the name that law enforcement found out that GRISELDA BLANCO, a Colombian drug lord, used as an alias.
Tube talk #2: The Hollywood Reporter say the folks at FOX are bringing back the show, "Joe Millionaire," 19 years after the original debuted on the network. On the new show, a pair of men will have dates and try to court 20 different women --who won't know that one is a real millionaire... but the other isn't.
