Lawsuit of the day: CHER has filed a lawsuit against her late husband, SONNY's widow, MARY BONO, claiming that she's got a million dollars in royalties from Sonny & Cher's hits and she wants the bucks. Cher's lawyers claim that her divorce in 1975 guaranteed that she would get half the bucks. FYI: Cher was Sonny's second wife, and he married twice more after they split. Mary was Sonny's fourth wife, whom he married in 1986.
Space aftermath: As you probably knew, former "Star Trek" actor WILLIAM SHATNER was in awe when he talked to reporters after being brought back down to Earth after his Blue Origin flight. But yesterday he admitted he was “stiff and sore” after the trip, saying his “90-year-old muscles are unaccustomed” to such activity. “I am stiff and sore and I ache,” he said.
Music: COLDPLAY has announced that their next tour will have a 12-point plan to cut their carbon footprint. CHRIS MARTIN told the BBC the group will have "kinetic flooring" that will generate electricity when fans jump up and down. "When they move, they power the concert," he said. He also promised to plant a tree for every ticket sold. But, he said, he's accepted the fact that there would be backlash about some of their activities, such as continuing to fly on private jets. But he also said that they'll minimize that kind of travel, and use sustainable aviation fuel when flying is unavoidable.
Not so good news for travelers: The TSA said yesterday that 40-percent of its workers --including screeners-- have remained unvaccinated for COVID-19. The deadline for civilian federal government workers to be fully vaccinated is November 22-- the Monday before Thanksgiving-- which means there might be fewer workers at airports and there could be potential delays if you're planning to fly across the country for the holiday-- which is one of the busiest travel times of the year.
Fast food #1: McDonald’s will be bringing back their McRib sandwich November first to celebrate the 40th anniversary of the sandwich. The first one was served back in 1981 at the McDonalds in Kansas City. FYI: 520 calories.
Fast food #2: The folks at McDonald’s are also putting together a plant-based burger using Beyond Meat. They'll be test the new "McPlant burger" in Irving and Carrollton, Texas; Cedar Falls, Iowa; Jennings and Lake Charles, Louisiana, as well as El Segundo and Manhattan Beach, California beginning November 3rd. No word on calories.
