"America's Got Talent" judge HOWIE MANDEL was rushed to a hospital in Los Angeles yesterday after he reportedly passed out at a Starbucks in his neighborhood. TMZ reports the 65-year-old apparently fainted because of low blood sugar, and was recovered as paramedics arrived in an ambulance to take him to the hospital.
Of course, this leads to the question: ever happen to you?
Strike alert: The members of the International Alliance of Theatrical Stage Employees --EYE-AT-SEE for short-- voted to strike if TV and Motion Picture Producers won't sign a new agreement with them. The strike --if it happens-- could stop productions of both movies and TV shows across the nation. Why are they striking? They want a higher minimum wage as well as more "downtime" between the start and stop times on production days.
Wedding this weekend for the BILL and MELINDA GATES’ daughter, JENNIFER. The 25-year-old is set to tie the knot with 30-year-old NAYEL NASSAR at her 124-acre, $16 million farm in North Salem that her parents bought for her after she graduated from Stanford. As you may remember, Bill and Melinda got divorced this past August, but both will likely be attending the wedding of their daughter.
You may have heard that THE ROLLING STONES have dropped the song, "Brown Sugar," from their current US tour. KEITH RICHARDS told the LA Times that he was confused by people who wanted to "bury" the track because of the song's representations of black women and references to slavery. "Didn't they understand this was a song about the horrors of slavery?" he said. MICK JAGGER also said "We've played Brown Sugar every night since 1970, so sometimes you think, we'll take that one out for now and see how it goes. We might put it back in."
Fast food: Burger King is bringing back it's Double Quarter Pound King burger for a limited time. In case you're wondering, it's two beef patties, each with American cheese, along with sliced onions, pickles, ketchup and mustard on a toasted sesame seed bun. And 1,067 calories. You're welcome. But, to make you feel a bit better, it's half the calorie load of their Bacon King burger, which is 2,103 calories.
