New shows: Congrats to CBS shows “NCIS: Hawai’i” and “FBI: International,” which have been given full-season orders after their first shows scored 9.3 million and 8.8 million viewers, respectively. One note: “NCIS: Hawai’i” is about the first female special agent in charge of NCIS Pearl Harbor.
Fast food freebie: McDonald’s will be giving out free “thank you” breakfasts to school teachers as well as school administrators through Friday (October 15th). You'll have to show a valid ID to get the breakfast, which could be an Egg McMuffin, Sausage Biscuit, or Bacon, Egg & Cheese Biscuit, plus Hash Browns and a medium soft drink or Premium Roast or Iced Coffee.
Tomorrow is the date that “Star Trek's” WILLIAM SHATNER will be shot into space as part of the four-person crew aboard Amazon founder JEFF BEZOS’ Blue Origin's New Shepard rocket. It was initially set to happen earlier in the week, but pushed back to Wednesday because of high winds. Liftoff is currently scheduled for 9:30 a.m. (Eastern).
Lotsa talk about the new Superman comic, which is about Clark Kent's 17-year-old son, Jon, who's becoming the new Man of Steel... although DC Comics says he'll be bisexual --in other words, the LGBTQ of Steel. In case you missed it, Jon is also the son of Clark and the Daily Planet’s reporter, Lois Lane.
Anti-vaxxer: ERIC CLAPTON, who has reportedly helped put together an anti-vax band. Rolling Stone says Eric donated a thousand pounds (around $1360 in dollars) to British rockers JAM FOR FREEDOM GoFundMe account to help pay for legal fees they picked up after “breaching COVID regulations” at one of their gigs. Clapton also reportedly shelled out for a six-person VW Transporter van so that they could drive around to gigs as well.
Possibly NSFW: One of the band's song lyrics reportedly says “You can stick your poison vaccine up your ass.”
Clapton's criticism over the vaccine reportedly stems from a bad reaction he suffered after taking the AstraZeneca vaccination.
More COVID stuff: Meanwhile, a new French study of 22.6 million people reports getting a vaccination reduces the risk of dying or being hospitalized with Covid-19 by 90-percent.
Spy story: Court date today for a US navy nuclear engineer and his wife --JOHNATHAN TOEBBE and his wife DIANA-- whom the Justice Department claims were allegedly attempting to sell nuclear submarine design data to an agent of a foreign country. However, as it turned out, it was an undercover FBI agent. The information was reportedly hidden on a SD card inside a peanut butter sandwich, and the TOEBBE's thought they'd get $100-thousand dollars for the info which TOEBBE picked up while working for the US Navy's nuclear propulsion program.
