Cool: DAVID BOWIE's album, "Toy," which was never officially released during his lifetime is now being released as a three-CD box set on January 7th --the date which would have been his 75th birthday. David himself passed away in January of 2016, shortly after his 69th birthday.
No COVID-19 cure: The FDA, many states health departments and even the drug company MERCK, which makes it, says the drug IVERMECTIN cannot be used to "cure" or even fight COVID-19. The drug is commonly used to treat intestinal worms in livestock. But there are apparently still many Facebook groups claiming that the medicine works in treating people for COVID-19. Bottom line from the FDA: It doesn't. And, in fact, can result in hospitalization for poisoning in some cases.
Wanna take a cruise again? We mentioned just the other day that cruise ships are heading out again, and now RICHARD BRANSON is rolling out his cruise line called VIRGIN VOYAGES. Already sailing from the U.K., the cruise line's first US ship --the "Scarlet Lady"-- sails from Miami October 6th. What will it be like? Branson says “It’s just going to be a fun ship for adults. No kids allowed on board, and I think people have a great time.”
Bloomberg has published it's top-10 Billionaires list and it's topped by Tesla and Space X head ELON MUSK, who's got $198 Billion bucks to his name. Second place goes to Amazon's JEFF BEZOS, with $194 billion, followed by French clothing guy BERNARD ARNAULT --the only foreigner on the list-- with $157 billion, thanks to his company, which owns Louis Vuitton, Dior, Fendi, Loro Piana, and Bulgari. Microsoft's BILL GATES is in fourth, followed by MARK ZUCKERBERG of Facebook fame.
On hold: The ZAC BROWN BAND's "Comeback Tour," after Zac tested positive for COVID-19. "Despite taking precautions," he said, "We will resume the tour as soon as I have finished the CDC-mandated quarantine and it is safe for our band members and crew to do so." Their shows beginning October 8th and after are still scheduled to go on as planned, according to their website.
Passing: TOMMY KIRK, who played the kid, Travis Coates, back in the 1957 Disney film, "Old Yeller." TMZ reports his neighbor found him in his Las Vegas home Tuesday night. He also was in "The Mickey Mouse Club" along with other Disney films, including "The Shaggy Dog, "Swiss Family Robinson" and "The Misadventures of Merlin Jones."
If you're already a DANIEL CRAIG fan, you know his last Bond film, "No Time To Die," debuts next week. But you'll still be able to catch him on Broadway in Shakespeare’s "Macbeth." Craig is paired with Oscar nominee RUTH NEGGA of "Loving" as Macbeth and Lady Macbeth at Broadway’s Lyceum Theatre, with opening night set for April 28. Tickets go on sale on Friday, October 8th.
