Tube talk: There's a remake of "The Fresh Prince of Bel-Air" coming to Peacock and the Hollywood Reporter says WILL SMITH's former role will be played by JABARI BANKS. As you may recall, in the original series, Will's character came from the streets of West Philadelphia to the gated mansions of Bel-Air. And interestingly, Jabari lives in West Philadelphia currently and will also be relocating to Bel-Air.
Tube, too: Former N'SYNC member LANCE BASS will be hosting “Bachelor in Paradise” this summer as one of the rotating guest hosts on the show, and after wrapping up his three episodes, says he'd like to host “an LGBT version” of the show. “I think maybe it’s the time for ‘The Bachelor’ to do a gay Bachelor," he says.
Like you really care: Starting next month, “CBS This Morning” will be called “CBS Mornings,” moving to a Times Square studio and adding former NFL player NATE BURLESON as a co-host next month. CBS obviously hopes the moves will push the show out of third place in the mornings behind ABC’s “Good Morning America” and NBC’s “Today.” “CBS This Morning.” Currently, GAYLE KING and TONY DOKOUPIL host the show.
Who doesn't like OPRAH WINFREY? That would be ROSE McGOWAN, who tweeted that Oprah is "as fake as they come." Rose also tweeted about Oprah's former friendship with convicted rapist HARVEY WEINSTEIN and how she was linked to RUSSELL SIMMONS, who's fighting multiple allegations of rape and sexual misconduct. More about this battle in FOX News HERE.
The folks at Disney say they're moving ahead with a sequel to their hit, "Jungle Cruise," and have DWAYNE JOHNSON and EMILY BLUNT on board. The current film has made over $100 million at the box office so far, so it shouldn't come as a big surprise.
New to you: Reality TV star KRISTIN CAVALLARI from "The Hills" and "Laguna Beach" and country singer CHASE RICE. E! News reports the couple have been dating for over a month. Kristin has three children with her ex-husband, former NFL star JAY CUTLER, with whom she was married for 10 years.
No Canada: The US State Department has added Canada to its “do not travel” list, thanks to the COVID-19 pandemic. Reuters reports Canada is not at the “Level 4--do not travel” status, although the State Department's website still has Canada listed at “Level 3 — reconsider travel.”
Meanwhile, the European Union said yesterday that its 27 member nations should go ahead and reinstate travel restrictions for American tourists because of rising coronavirus infections in the United States. Five other countries were also removed from the E.U.’s safe travel list as well: Israel, Kosovo, Lebanon, Montenegro and North Macedonia.
Fast food: McDonald’s is debuting it's new bite-sized Glazed Pull-Apart Donuts today (September 1). The donuts are an addition to McDonald’s Bakery line: the Apple Fritter, Blueberry Muffin and Cinnamon Roll.
Fast food too: Wendy’s is rolling out a new Big Bacon Cheddar Chicken sandwich in three varieties: Original, Spicy and Grilled. The sandwich is a breaded chicken breast covered in creamy cheddar cheese and bacon jam, topped with applewood-smoked bacon, crispy onions, and a slice of American cheese, on a toasted cheddar bun. In case you're wondering: 810 calories.
