Name change: KANYE WEST has reportedly filed court documents to officially change his name to just "Ye," citing "personal reasons" for the change. This should not come as a surprise to anyone, since back in 2018, he released an album called "Ye," and said on Twitter, "The being formally [sic] known as Kanye West. I am YE."
He explained the change, saying "I believe 'ye' is the most commonly used word in the Bible, and in the Bible it means 'you.'"
Interestingly, if he does change it legally and then runs for President in 2024, that would potentially be the name in the voting machines.
Lawsuit of the day: SPENCER ELDEN, who was a four-month-old baby when he was photographed for the cover for NIRVANA's album, "Nevermind," is now 30 years old and suing the band, claiming his nude picture is sexual exploitation and child pornography. Spencer is shown in a swimming pool, reaching for a dollar bill, and the lawsuit claims the picture exposes his genitals, hence the background for the lawsuit. And Spencer says he's suffered "lifelong damages" and "extreme and permanent emotional distress" as a result. He wants at least $150-thousand bucks from each of the 15 defendants. That would total $2,250,000 (2 and a quarter million dollars).
COVID-19 update: Delta Air Lines says they'll make their unvaccinated employees shell out $200 dollars a month to cover the medical bills they might have to pay if the employee gets Covid. The company CEO, ED BASTIAN, said “The average hospital stay for COVID-19 has cost Delta $50-thousand dollars per person,” and noted that all the hospitalizations were because of employees who were not vaccinated.
Ch-ch-changes: As you may remember, the folks at Krispy Kreme announced back in March that anyone with a valid COVID-19 vaccination card can get one of their free Original Glazed doughnuts any day, every day, until the end of 2021. Now, five months later, they're upping the incentive and offering two free doughnuts --one Original Glazed and one an Original Glazed Heart Doughnut, beginning next Monday, August 30th through September 5th, when you show your vaccination card.
Showtime sez there's a Ray Donovan feature-length movie which will debut in the first quarter of 2022. That will apparently wrap up the series, which was cancelled after seven seasons on the network. In the finale, LIEV SCHREIBER is back as Donovan; JON VOIGHT as Mickey Donovan, and KERRIS DORSEY as Ray’s daughter Bridget.
Nice work: RACHEL MADDOW’s deal with MSNBC reportedly pays her $30 million dollars a year. The Daily Beast sez even though she's getting rid of her nightly show and only doing a weekly one along with other projects, she'll still get the big bucks. Also, the contract lasts through 2024 elections, so they'll have a big name on board.
Passing: MICHAEL NADER, who played Dimitri Marick for 10 years on the soap "All My Children" and Dex Dexter on the original "Dynasty" for six years, passed away from an untreatable form of cancer Monday. He was 76 years old.
