Tube talk: It'll be MIKE RICHARDS and MAYIM BIALIK taking over the hosting duties of "Jeopardy!" and replacing the late ALEX TREBEK. Richards is the show's executive producer, and will be hosting the daily syndicated game show, while Mayim will be taking over the hosting duties for the shop's primetime specials and spinoff series. And, in case you were wondering, KEN JENNINGS will be the show's "consulting producer."
Weather: We're up to six named storms this year with the National Hurricane Center calling the latest storm "Tropical Storm Fred" as it heads past Cuba and up towards the Florida panhandle. Meteorologists say this year could have a busier an above-average hurricane season.
COVID update: The folks at the New York Stock Exchange say they now want anybody going on the trading floor to be fully vaccinated against the coronavirus by this Friday (September 13th).
You knew it was coming: RICK ASTLEY's video for "Never Gonna Give You Up" has hit a billion views on YouTube, with everybody blaming it on rickrolling. Rick, who's now 55-years-old, said in an Instagram video "That is mind-blowing. The world is a wonderful and beautiful place and I am very lucky."
Sick bay: TMZ reports EMINEM’s ex-wife, KIM SCOTT, was hospitalized last month following a suicide attempt at her home in Michigan. Kim's attempted suicide reportedly took place a week after her mother passed away at the age of 65.
A brand-new Economist/YouGov poll reports infomercial host MIKE LINDELL has has more people who like him than outgoing New York Governor ANDREW CUOMO. Lindell, who does those "My Pillow" TV commercials and has spoken out because he believes the 2020 election was somehow rigged against former president DONALD TRUMP, also beat out Republican Senator LINDSEY GRAHAM of South Carolina and NY Congresswoman ALEXANDRIA OCASIO-CORTEZ.
It'll be pizza for lunch today at the International Space Station. Northrop Grumman’s Cygnus cargo ship headed up to space on Tuesday and should reach the space station with pizza for seven this morning, along with fresh apples, tomatoes and kiwi, and a cheese smorgasbord for the astronauts. The whole shipment, which also includes some replacement parts for the station, weighs 82-hundred pounds.
Music news... no, wait... book news: DOLLY PARTON is not just a country singer any more --she's an author. She's co-written a novel working with famous fiction author JAMES PATTERSON called “Run, Rose, Run,” about a young woman who moves to Nashville to pursue her dream of making music, trying to keep a secret from her past while doing it. And, as you might expect, Dolly is also releasing a 12-song album “based on the characters and situations in the book” as well. The novel will be in stores next March.
