Fast food: How long have those 7-Eleven convenience stores been around? Try 94 years! And they'll be celebrating their birthday during the entire month of July by offering variety of special deals and freebies, incouding:
--a free, small slurpee today on July 1st (but you can get it any day in July).
--all month long, get Big Bite hot dogs, taquitos, Cheeseburger Bite rollers, Buffalo chicken rollers and eggrolls, for $1 each.
All shook up: there's an ELVIS PRESLEY streaming channel launching next year. The channel will reportedly include archival content and specials featuring the King of Rock 'n Roll, plus and exclusive specials and documentaries. The Cinedigm Digital Networks say they'll make the channel available in the US and Canada with partners including Samsung, Pluto, Roku, Hulu, Amazon and Tubi.
Shocker: Pennsylvania's Supreme Court has overturned BILL COSBY’s sex assault conviction. As you probably know, Bill has already served more than two years of a three- to 10-year sentence at a state prison near Philadelphia after he refused to acknowledge any remorse over the 2004 encounter with his accuser, Temple University employee ANDREA CONSTAND. Now 83 years old, Cosby was convicted of drugging and molesting her at a second trial, after the jury became deadlocked in the first one. But the supreme court said the judge at Cosby's second trial allowed five other accusers to testify at the retrial about their experiences, which "tainted the trial." No word about Cosby's potential release... or another re-trial.
Movie news: Even though CHADWICK BOSEMAN --the star of the movie "Black Panther"-- passed away of colon cancer at 43 back in 2020, Marvel Studios President KEVIN FIEGE says they have begun the movie "Black Panther 2 --Wakanda Forever" in Atlanta. The film will reportedly have most of the original cast back together, and Feige says “We’re going to do it in a way that would make Chad proud.” No word on the plot or the cast members who will be returning, but it'll be in theatres on July 8, 2022 --a year from now.
Thinking about buying a new home? Then you'll want to know that the price of houses is shooting up to around 15 percent these days because of a shortage of residential properties. The Case-Shiller national home price index says it's “the highest reading in more than 30 years.” Phoenix, San Diego, and Seattle recorded the highest price rises in the 20-city index, which also included Dallas, Miami, New York and San Francisco as well.
