A new survey shows that we should expect to pay at least five percent more for stuff than we did before the pandemic. According to the Bureau of Labor Statistics’ latest report, we'll be looking at rising inflation costs just as we get ready to emerge from the pandemic. For instance:
--Bacon is up a dollar a pound from a year ago.
--A gallon of whole milk is up more than 25-cents.
--The price of gas is now up 56.2 percent from a year ago --the highest since 2014.
--Used cars and trucks are up 29.7 percent from a year ago.
If you passed on your annual box of Girl Scout cookies this past year, you're not alone --the Scouts say they still have 15 million boxes of unsold cookies. The scouts usually sell around 200 million boxes of cookies per year, or around $800 million worth. The cookies have a 12-month shelf life and that's why they're attempting to sell them on the internet and other ways now. Check with your local scouts to see if they still have some!
Coronavirus update: Walt Disney World in Florida says you can visit the park without a face mask now, as long as you've been vaccinated. But you'll still have to wear a mask indoors and on all rides and attractions, including buses, monorails and other transportation. And children under 12, since they haven't been vaccinated, will still be required to wear a mask.
The pandemic has factored into the car buying business, as research firm IHS Markit says the average age of vehicles on the road here in the U.S. is over 12 years old for the first time, and that drivers are putting more miles on their cars and truck as well.
Fast food: Chick-fil-A has brought back its peach milkshake for a limited time. The fan favorite was first sampled back in 2009 and is usually available during the summer at the fast food giant.

Movie news: JACK BLACK is reportedly in talks to star with ICE CUBE in the upcoming comedy, "Oh Hell No." The plot is pretty simple: Jack and Ice's characters are good friends until Jack falls in love with Ice's mother.
Gone: Film and TV actor NED BEATTY, who appeared in “Network,” “Deliverance,” “Nashville,” “All the President’s Men” and others. He was 83 and died of natural causes.
Also pushing up daisies: ZIONA CHANA, who had the world's largest family. Wait for it... Ziona was 76, lived in India, and had 38 wives, 89 children and 36 grandchildren! He reportedly suffered from diabetes and hypertension. He was the head of a local Christian sect, called "Chana Pawl," that as you probably can imagine, allows polygamy.
And JOHN GABRIEL, who played Dr. Seneca Beaulac on the ABC soap “Ryan’s Hope” for more than a decade, has passed away at 90. He won an Emmy award for the role in 1980.
