We don't even know if there will be a Super Bowl 2021, but Pepsi just announced that Grammy-winning singer THE WEEKND will be performing. In case you were wondering, the NFL has set SuperBowl LV for Feb. 7, 2021 at Raymond James Stadium in Tampa, FL, sponsored by Pepsi and broadcast on CBS.
SELENA GOMEZ just announced she would be SILVIA VÁSQUEZ-LAVADO in a new film. If the name doesn't ring a bell, the Hollywood Reporter explains that's because she's the first Peruvian woman to climb to the top of Mount Everest and the first openly gay woman to complete the Seven Summits, a challenge to climb the highest mountain on each continent.
MATTHEW PERRY tells Variety that the much-awaited “Friends” reunion special is now scheduled to start shooting next March. It was supposed to be produced this past March, but due to the coronavirus, producers shut down everything around the country. The inside word is that they'll eventually be shooting the special on the original “Friends” soundstage, on the Warner Brothers Studio lot in Burbank.
In case you were wondering... With Pfizer possibly getting a COVID vaccine ready by around New Year's, there are also other drug companies in search of a vaccine as well --Moderna says it has completed its Phase 3 trials for COVID-19 vaccine and says if its vaccine is approved and is effective, it can be stored at a much warmer temperature than Pfizer's vaccine --which sources say must be stored at minus-70 degrees Celsius. Typical freezers don’t get that cold, making distribution of this vaccine a logistical nightmare. Meanwhile, China is reported to have four experimental vaccines developed by three companies now going through phase III human trials and safety testing before they can be approved for commercial use.
Over in Russia, however, they apparently already have a vaccine... but it may not be working so well. Reports say at least four Russian health care workers who'd taken the vaccine have gotten the coronavirus. The people who make the Russian vaccine claim it's 92% effective.
Meanwhile, it's been reported that US drug stores and pharmacies will be able to distribute free coronavirus vaccines after they are approved and become available. The thrust of the deal is to make getting a COVID-19 vaccine shot just like getting a flu shot.
