Coronavirus second wave: Over in France, President EMMANUEL MACRON has told people they must stay indoors from 9 pm to 6 am in Paris and eight other cities to control the rapid spread of coronavirus in the country. That curfew will last for at least four weeks, after another 22,951 infections were confirmed on Wednesday. The Netherlands also has a partial lockdown, in Spain bars and restaurants are closing for two weeks from today in Catalonia and the Czech Republic has shut schools and bars.
NBC is reportedly working on a new series based on “Fried Green Tomatoes,” with REBA McENTIRE attached to star and with Norman Lear executive producing. Variety says the show will look at what's happened to her hometown after Reba's character returns to Whistle Stop after a decade away.
While we're on the subject of spin-offs, that “Grease” update has been moved from HBO Max to Paramount Plus, and renamed “Grease: Rise of the Pink Ladies.” Variety sez the series will feature a handful of new songs as well, although Paramount is still hoping to make a deal to get the original music for the series as well.
The latest thing in apartments --more bedrooms. Thanks to the coronavirus and more people spending time at home, there's an increased demand for more space for separate home offices --which shouldn't come as any surprise. The good news is that real estate folks say COVID has caused the cost of living to go down by 15 to 30 percent, which means renters can afford more --more building amenities, more space, more bedrooms.

Passing: Former game show host (who your dad and mom might remember) TOM KENNEDY, who died on October 7th at his home in Oxnard, CA. He was 93. Best known for “Name That Tune,” which was syndicated and he hosted from 1974 to 1981, he also did 13 other shows during a lengthy, 30-year career as well.
