The folks at Goodyear Tire and Rubber Company have posted a company-wide mandate requiring employees to leave their political apparel at home before coming to work. A picture of the rules posted showed under "acceptable" was, "Black Lives Matter (BLM), Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual, Transgender Pride (LGBT)." Listed as "unacceptable" was "Blue Lives Matter, All Lives Matter, MAGA Attire, Political Affiliated Slogans or Material." That led to the President tweeting: "Don’t buy GOODYEAR TIRES - They announced a BAN ON MAGA HATS. Get better tires for far less! (This is what the Radical Left Democrats do. Two can play the same game, and we have to start playing it now!)" In response, Goodyear released a statement saying they have "zero tolerance for any forms of harassment or discrimination. To enable a work environment free of those, we ask that associates refrain from workplace expressions in support of political campaigning for any candidate or political party, as well as similar forms of advocacy that fall outside the scope of racial justice and equity issues."
Question for your listeners: Is it right to ban all political clothing from the workplace?
Black Lives Matter: STEVEN SPIELBERG has reportedly written some Black characters into his 'West Side Story' remake. One of them, a guy called "Abe," will be played by Broadway star CURTISS COOK, who told the London Sun that adding a main character who was Black into the mix was more representative of 1950s New York than that which was seen in the original 1961 movie. We'll see if that changes the main story line about the pair of gangs --the all-white Jets and the Puerto Rican Sharks.
Apple has become the first publicly traded U.S. company in history to be worth $2-trillion dollars, as the stock went up to around $468 a share yesterday. If you bought Apple stock at the beginning of the year, it's gone up 60-percent, despite the coronavirus outbreak.
He's dead, Jim: Sorry to hear actor BEN CROSS, who played athlete Harold Abrahams in the film, "Chariots of Fire," passed away "suddenly" following a short illness yesterday at the age of 72.
Because you need to know: KAMALA HARRIS has chosen her Secret Service name --it'll be "Pioneer." For the record, JOE BIDEN will still use his former code name of “Celtic.”
In case you need to know, PRESIDENT TRUMP’s code name is “Mogul” and VP MIKE PENCE’s code name is “Hoosier,” in reference to his Indiana roots.
Question for your listeners: What would your code name be?
