Congratulations to the guys from The Village People, whose song, "YMCA," has been added to the Library of Congress' National Recording Registry this year, along with WHITNEY HOUSTON's "I Will Always Love You," TINA TURNER's "Private Dancer," DR DRE's "The Chronic," and CHEAP TRICK's live album "Cheap Trick at the Budokan." The theme song for “Mister Rogers’ Neighborhood,” and the original cast album for “Fiddler on the Roof” were also among the 25 recordings.
So far, the registry has 550 recordings.
The Harris Poll has ranked the country's most highly rated packaged coffee brands, although the ratings are not by sales but "by the strength of their connections to consumers." They are:
- McCafé
- Peet's
- Community
- Folgers
- Green Mountain
- Café Bustelo
- Starbucks
- Dunkin' Donuts
Of course, that means your audience will have its own favorites... good for the morning question.
No surprise that this year's 2020 Tony Awards have been postponed due to the coronavirus outbreak. Scheduled for Sunday, June 20, producers now say they'll be moved back to sometime later this year. It also makes sense because all the Broadway shows have been forced to close the theatres due to the coronavirus.
How about an episode from a show about a massive flu epidemic? That's not gonna happen either. Not surprisingly, NBC has jerked an upcoming episode of “New Amsterdam” that's set in New York City and deals with problems around a fictitious flu epidemic, ostensibly because it's too close to the real coronavirus thing.
