Too bad: author CLIVE CUSSLER died Monday at the age of 88. Clive wrote 25 novels featuring his character Dirk Pitt, including "Sahara" and "Raise the Titanic," and sold more than 100 million copies of his books in all. You may have seen "Sahara" at the movies back in 2005, starring MATTHEW McCONAUGHEY and PENELOPE CRUZ.
"Raise the Titanic!" was a 1980 film starring JASON ROBARDS, RICHARD JORDAN, DAVID SELBY, ANNE ARCHER and Sir ALEC GUINNESS, but didn't do very well at the box office.
Variety reports there's a sequel to “Silence of the Lambs” coming called “Clarice” --but it won't be a movie. Instead, CBS has picked it up as a series starring REBECCA BREEDS as FBI Agent Clarice Starling as she attempts to hunt down various serial murderers and sexual predators in Washington DC.
Of course, Breeds is the third actress to play the character: JODIE FOSTER did it in “Silence of the Lambs” and JULIANNE MOORE was Clarice in “Hannibal.”
Let's all feel sorry for HARVEY WEINSTEIN. Instead of heading to Rikers Island, the NYC jail where the judge in the case sentenced him, he's been held in Bellevue Hospital for "high blood pressure" instead. Sources say he's "having a tough time, battling insomnia and being reduced to scarfing down bologna sandwiches." Poor baby!
But it'll all end on March 11, when Harvey, who's facing up to 29 years behind bars, is scheduled to be sentenced.
