Yesterday was the finals of the Westminster Kennel Club Dog Show and one of the finalists, Siba --a black standard poodle-- was a finalist in the non-sporting group. But the way she got there was thanks to her handler, CRYSTAL MURRAY-CLAS, who went out to a nearby McDonalds to pick up some grilled chicken sandwiches for the dog's lunch.
As Crystal put it, her poodle would only eat chicken, and they didn't have any at Madison Square Garden. So she went out to grab some next door and that was enough nourishment for Siba to grab first place.
Question for your listeners: what food does your dog have to have?
Valentine's Day is Friday, and that brings us to the question --will you be buying a present for your pet?
Researchers at the National Retail Federation say around 27-percent of people will binge on Valentine’s gifts for their pets, noting “We’ve always heard of puppy love, but pets are definitely seeing a larger share of Valentine’s Day spending.” That would account for a total $1.7 billion dollars this year.
Question for your listeners (of course): Are you gonna do it and what gift would you get your pet?
A new species of tyrannosaur has been discovered by scientists in Canada. They've determined that lived in the late Cretaceous Period, around 80 million years ago, and was not the sort of thing you'd want to find looking through your garbage. It was around 8 feet tall and had teeth which were about 2.7 inches long.
The dinosaur skeleton was found by a farmer and palaeontology enthusiast while hiking around southern Alberta ten years ago.
Ain't gonna happen: HARVEY WEINSTEIN's lawyers said yesterday he won't be testifying in his rape trial in New York City, and rested their case after four days of testimony.
Harvey's lawyers claim the legal team for the state have not probed their claims that Harvey raped several women and that the women's testimony is not believable. We'll see.
