Super Bowl LIV is coming up on Groundhog Day, and you probably won't see as many ads for movies this year... because only the big-ticket advertisers can afford $5.6 million bucks for a 30-second ad --up from $5.2 million last year.
Of course, being the most-watched live TV show and sporting event of the year, there are people who will shell out.
AdWeek reports for the first time, drag queens will appear in one of the Super Bowl ads. That would be "RuPaul's Drag Race" alumni KIM CHI and MIZ CRACKER, who'll be plugging Sabra hummus. Sabra ads will also feature rapper T-PAIN along with former "Real Housewives of New Jersey" rivals CAROLINE MANZO and TERESA GIUDICE as well.More tube talk: CBS has reportedly okayed a pilot for a remake of "The Equalizer," which originally starred EDWARD WOODWARD on TV and later, DENZEL WASHINGTON in the movies.
But get ready for a sex change, because the new "Equalizer" will reportedly be QUEEN LATIFAH, who be helping out people in trouble who have nowhere --and no one-- else to turn to.Movie news: Look for hottie PRIYANKA CHOPRA --now married to JoBro NICK JONAS-- to star in the next movie about "The Matrix." KEANU REEVES and CARRIE ANN MOSS will be back for the sequel as well, along with YAHYA ABDUL-MATEEN II, and NEIL PATRICK HARRIS.
A nearly 100-year-old shipwreck has been found in the Bermuda Triangle. The ship --the SS Cotopaxi-- was a merchant steamer loaded with coal and disappeared on a trip to Havana from Charleston, NC in 1925. Now divers have located the remains off the coast of St. Augustine, FL, in the vicinity of the so-called "Bear Wreck."
Turns out the ship had been apparently caught in a large storm off the Florida coast, sent out distress signals, but no one could locate it from the coordinates --until now. Just another reason that it's safer to travel these days on an ocean liner than it ever was back then!Tomorrow morning at 11:30 am (Pacific), CURTIS "50 CENT" JACKSON will be picking up his star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame in front of the W Hollywood Hotel and Hollywood Hamburger at the famous corner of Hollywood & Vine.
The ceremony will be just in time to honor the series finale of his show, "Power," which airs Sunday, Feb 09 at 8pm on STARZ.
His new show, the series "For Life," a legal and family drama, will also be premiering in February on ABC as well.More presidential poll action on the Democratic side...
