JON BON JOVI spent World Homeless Day on Friday visiting a Camden, NJ, shelter he's been sponsoring for years. Joseph's House has been expanded and renovated and can now accept up to 90 guests each night.
The TINA TURNER musical opened for previews Saturday night at the Lunt-Fontanne Theatre, with the official opening night set for November 7.
WHITNEY HOUSTON has been gone for seven years, and now her long-time friend, ROBIN CRAWFORD, has written a book about meeting her as a teenager and Whitney's life, career and their relationship. It's called "A Song For You," and will be in bookstores Tuesday, November 5th.
Why would somebody steal a copper bust of aviation pioneer ORVILLE WRIGHT? Perhaps the copper might be worth something if it was melted down, but the bust --from the Wright Brothers National Memorial in the Outer Banks of North Carolina-- leaves Orville's brother, WILBUR, as the only one left in the Memorial.
MADONNA wrapped up her Madame X Tour in New York Saturday night. She had to postpone the tour last week as she took three days to recover from a recent knee injury, but was back Friday night and Saturday at the Brooklyn Academy of Music.
The Material Girl's tour heads to Chicago next, and on to Europe in January.TMZ reports EDDIE VAN HALEN has been suffering from throat cancer for years, and has been quietly flying between the United States and Germany for treatment. Eddie claims he got cancer from a metal guitar pick he used to hold on his tongue; he developed cancer there and doctors had to remove around a third of his tongue in 2000. Of course, Eddie was also a heavy smoker, but he believes it was the pick that gave him the cancer.
TMZ says Eddie has also had treatment to scrape his throat clean of cancer cells that showed up there, and that he's been flying to Germany off and on for five years to get radiation treatments. -
