Posturing, Posing, Polling and Press Releases:
A new Bloomberg Politics poll shows HILLARY CLINTON crushing DONALD TRUMP in a hypothetical general election match-up. Madame Hillary beats Trump 54-to-36-percent in a contest between the two front-runners.
Even worse for Trump, only 29-percent of likely general election voters nationally have a favorable view of him, compared to 68-percent who view him negatively. Conversely, 53-percent of those surveyed view Mrs. Clinton negatively. Those @$#%* Foreigners:
Terrorists have tried to kill a 19-year-old Mormon missionary on three different occasions and failed every time! Us Weekly reports MASON WELLS was in the Brussels airport when explosions began going off last Tuesday and suffered a ruptured Achilles tendon, shrapnel injuries and second and third degree burns, but luckily made it out alive. The young man was also a block away during the Boston Marathon bombing in 2013 and in Paris during the attacks last year.
His mother, KYMBERLY, expects her baby boy to make a full recovery, says he was "extremely close to the blast" and it's a "blessing from God" that he's still alive. (Lee)Today's police blotter:
A large flying saucer stolen from the UFO Museum in Roswell, New Mexico has been found.
Security video showed the fiberglass and metal model spaceship being hauled off by thieves in a pickup truck early Saturday morning. For several days, its whereabouts were unknown. But, the saucer was found off Highway 70 in a ditch about two miles west of town Wednesday. Unfortunately, police say it was broken into several pieces and has been destroyed.
The spaceship has been a fixture in downtown Roswell for years. (Still)Survey sez:
A new study from the consulting firm Deloitte says more than 70-percent of U.S. TV viewers now binge-watch TV shows, with the average viewer watching an average of five episodes at a time.
The study, which was conducted last fall, also found that millennials liked streaming services more than pay-TV, while older viewers still liked cable or satellite TV more.
In fact, the study says those millenials aged 14-25 now spend more time watching online-video services than they watch live TV.Grace notes from Vinny Marino:
The woman who inspired HARRY CHAPIN's classic tune, "Taxi," has passed away. The Journal News of New York's Lower Hudson Valley says CLARE ALDEN MacINTYRE-ROSS met Harry in 1960 in Fishkill, New York, to work as counselors for the kids coming up for the Fresh Air Fund's Camp Hayden. She and Harry hooked up, but her father, an Air Force guy, didn't like him. The couple dated for two years, even though Harry lived in Brooklyn and she was in ritzy Scarsdale which was about two hours away. They broke up. Years later, Harry was broke and got a license to drive a New York City cab. He knew that Clare's parents wouldn't let her take the subway and that she always took cabs whenever she was in the city. Harry was worried that she'd get in his cab and he wouldn't know what to say to her. He decided not to take the job, and got the inspiration to write his 1972 hit, "Taxi" from the fear of running into Clare after all those years. Oh, and Harry switched the location from New York to San Francisco, and Clare became Sue. (Marino)
