Filling a need:
Did you ask for more emojis on your bourgeois smartphone? No? You're getting them anyways.
The Unicode Consortium, also known as the company responsible for your emojis, is getting ready to update all of our technology with thirty-eight new emojis come June, 2016.
Yahoo! Tech reports that the new emojis will include a "facepalm emoji, a prince, an owl, an avocado, some bacon, a nauseated face, a lying face, a croissant, a bat, a selfie, and a pregnant woman," among others. (AB)Idle gossip & unconfirmed rumors:
Feel free to switch the relationship meter on ANDREW GARFIELD and EMMA STONE back to the "on" position. As we told 'ya last Friday, the A-list duo was spotted out to dinner last week and Us Weeklyreports they headed out to a Malibu grocery store to stock up for the holiday weekend. (Lee)
Trendspotting:
Mirrored rainbow reflective sunglasses is the cool look for summer. You can tell because "Glee's" DIANA AGRON and actress JAMIE CHUNG have been spotted about town looking fabulous in them. (Bartha)
Looking for love in all the wrong places:
There's one waitress in Russia that you should NOT mess with. When one patron tried to pay her by shoving money down the front of her shirt, she knocked him off his stool. When he got up and continued to try and grope her, she took him down! Check the video out here. (Myers)
Grace notes from Vinny Marino:
U2 played Phoenix Thursday night, and NME.com says BONO invited a fan to come up on stage. He said he met a fan earlier in the day who asked if the band could play "In God's Country." So, Bono finds the dude in the crowd and brings up him. Of course, the guy starts jumping up and down like an idiot before Bono calms him down, gets him an acoustic guitar, and then tries to remember the lyrics. The fan did a decent job and knew all the chords, but when the song was over, he tried to stick around for the next tune which was "The Sweetest Thing." Bono wasn't having any of that and made sure fan boy was taken away. (Marino)
Off the beaten path:
If you weren't in Leipzig, Germany this weekend, you missed out on the annual Wave Gothic festival.
Around 20-thousand people dressed in leather, spikes, and blood showed up with their piercings to the 23rd annual festival. The four day event includes over a hundred acts, along with food and vendors. The event is spread across multiple locations, including cemeteries and churches. If you missed it this year, there's always next time. Or, check out the macabre photo galleries at the festival's official website. (Still) -
