Idle gossip & unconfirmed rumors:
The honeymoon's already over for AMBER HEARD and JOHNNY DEPP. Sources tell the National Enquirer that the new bride ordered her hubby to brush and floss every single day because his nasty breath is a serious turn-off. Apparently the superstar's former love VANESSA PARADIS was okay with his poor hygiene, but his latest leading lady is a serious health nut. (Lee)
Meanwhile, JOHNNY DEPP suffered an injury while on location in Australia for the latest film, "Pirates of the Caribbean: Dead Men Tell No Tales."
The Wrap reports Johnny was not working at the time of his injury over the weekend, and will have to be flown back to the US to have surgery.Overheard on Sunset Blvd:
Look for a much darker version of "Dumbo" coming, since the Wall Street Journal reports Disney has hired "Alice in Wonderland" director TIM BURTON to do a new, live-action version of the animated classic about the sad, little baby circus elephant. Insiders say the new film --which already has a script attached-- will be a mixture of live action and animation.
Grace notes:
SNOOP DOGG dropped a new single yesterday. It's called "Peaches N Cream" featuring CHARLIE WILSON and produced by PHARRELL WILLIAMS. It will be on Snoop's new album, "Bush," which comes out on May 12th. This will be Snoop's first effort for Columbia Records.
FYI: Snoop will be the keynote speaker at this year's South-By-Southwest conference in Austin, Texas. He'll step up to the mic on Friday, March 20th in Ballroom A of the Austin Convention Center. (Marino)Another obvious study:
Parents... if you overdo it praising your kids, you might be raising mini-narcissists by constantly telling your kids they are just sooooooo special (Precious flowers deserving of only golden sunlight and purified rainwater). The new "No, duh!" study out of Ohio State University looked at 565 children from ages 7 to 11, asking their parents to fill out surveys about how they feel about their children. WebMD.com says that parents who overvalued their children --and regularly told their kids how special and entitled they were-- ended up with kids who believed them. Those kids were "overly convinced of their own importance and superiority." But parents who gave their kids simple warmth and affection --reflected in statements like "I let my child know I love him/her"-- raised kids who had healthy self-esteem and with a more realistic understanding of their place in the world. If you're going to keep naked pics of a woman on your phone that aren't your wife, you might want to not let your wife go through your phone. A California woman, who's 21, has been charged with attempted murder after she stabbed her husband in the neck with a kitchen knife after finding naked pictures on his phone of another woman. The husband, who's 34, received non-life threatening injuries. The couple has two young children ages one and four, who are now with the Department of Children and Families. (Myers)
