Idle gossip & unconfirmed rumors:
It's good to be a bigwig at Netflix.
TED SARANDOS, the "chief content officer" at the movie company, just shelled out $10.2 million for DAVID SPADE's Malibu beach house, which he's been trying to unload for the past decade. The 3,763-square-foot home has beach access along with four-bedrooms, three and a half baths, four fireplaces, a tiny pool and a three-car garage.London tabloids:
Warning: note sexual content.
HUGH JACKMAN is one of those annoying husbands that brings his work home. The "Wolverine" stud tells the British tabloid the London Sun that he wears his signature costume in the sack with wife DEBORRA-LEE FURNESS and admits they go through loads of sheets! (Lee)Chic Sh*t:
Everyone from MILEY CYRUS to ZOE SALDANA is wearing the hottest new trend in nails --white polish! While it may sound just plain weird, the beauty editors over at Yahoo.com say it flatters all skin tones and can enhance the look of your gorgeous summer glow. (Lee)
Lawsuit of the Day:
A stripper just won a lawsuit against Nebraska police who confiscated over a million dollars in $10,000 bundles tied with hair ties after a routine traffic stop.
TARA MISHRA, 33, had stripped for 15 years in California and managed to save $1,074,000. So she gave the cash to friends to open a New Jersey nightclub. But when those friends were pulled over in Nebraska, the cops suspected the money was tied to drugs and confiscated all the cash.
This week, because police failed to find evidence of drug activity, and since a canine search revealed only trace amounts of illegal drugs on the money, a judge found Mishra's story completely credible and ordered that the cash had to be returned.
Editor's note: Good for her. I don't believe her story for a second. But good for her. What, the cops should get it? Let them earn their own money the old fashioned way: By taking bribes. (Maiman)Morons on Parade:
A guy in England set a new record by riding a jet-powered shopping cart at speeds of 45 miles-an-hour.
52-year-old MATT McKEOWN attached a modified helicopter engine to the shopping cart, then stabilized it with go-kart wheels. Matt says, "We've also put an after-burner on, which in theory could have taken the speed up to about 80 miles-per-hour, but it didn't work, so I'm disappointed."
McKeown is now waiting for the Guinness Book to validate his attempt. (Still) -
